Ravenstonedale is an unspoiled picturesque village lying at the foot of the Howgill fells in Cumbria. Nearby is the village of Newbiggin-on-Lune. These villages together with the farms and homes scattered around them form the parish of Ravenstonedale which is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Oaklea is situated at the top of the village. From the garden there are magnificent uninterupted views of the nearby fells.
The fells around Ravenstonedale are a paradise for walkers. Golfers, cyclists and fishing enthusists are well catered for.
Oaklea is within easy walking distance of the Black Swan, an award winning hotel, providing restaurant and bar meals. The Fat Lamb, also serving rstaurant and bar meals is 2 miles away along a picturesque country lane.
There is a wide variety of activities to be enjoyed by visitors to Ravenstonedale. In addition to the many activities available locally Ravenstonedale is within easy driving range of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales which greatly extends the range of activities available.

The fells and footpaths that surround Ravenstonedale are a paradise for walkers.

The nearby fells offer excellent opportunities for trekking.

The roads in this area of Cumbria are significantly less crowded than the main Lakes so can be better enjoyed by cyclists.

The River Eden and its tributary, the River Belah, offer river fly fishing for wild brown trout.

There are some interesting National Trust properties within easy drives from Ravenstonedale.
